Ding-a-Ling Does Pick and Pack
Pick and pack is a part of our fulfillment department and can make your life much easier. This supply chain process gets your products out the door and to the consumers. We will handle all processes and orders no matter how big or how small. Use our third party solution to warehousing and shipping to save your company time and money. Our staff is reliable and efficient, and we offer the support to get your company moving better and faster than ever.
This process saves you money in many different ways. To begin with, renting or owning a facility large enough to house large amounts of inventory is very expensive. Hiring a dedicated staff is even more costly. Most of the time a business needs people to maintain stock and inventory, a different set of people to pull the products for packing, someone in charge of labeling, another person in charge of shipping, and many more employees just to keep things running. Keeping a location running takes hundreds of employees. Since our location and our employees are not dedicated to one company you are not solely responsible for paying additional full-time workers.
How it Works
This process can be very complicated and somewhat difficult to define. Basically, we warehouse your products and ship them out to your customers. When an order is placed our staff gets to work to expedite your product. In order to complete this process successfully there must be a well maintained and highly organized warehousing department to rely on. This is where pick and pack comes into play. Think of it as being the middle part of a transaction. Once a customer pays for goods they are then shipped out. In order to ensure the correct products are shipped to the right party, they must be carefully picked from their location in inventory and packaged for delivery.
Where it Starts
The pick and pack process begins long before any orders are actually fulfilled. Important things must happen before we can accurately ship out your products to your customers. The process typically starts by us receiving in your inventory for stocking in our fulfillment center. We usually receive in a large container of your merchandise directly from your supplier. Then we open up the shipment and break it down appropriately. Once it is sorted we take the individual parts and wrap them in individual packaging if needed. Finally, we label the products to identify exactly what they are and stock them into our system. Products are securely stored on racks and in containers for quick and easy access when they need to be pulled.
When an Order is Placed
After your customer places an order for products from your company our workers put the fulfillment process in motion. Our staffers pull the inventory from the shelves, verify it against the purchase order, package it for shipping, and then put it on the delivery truck. Most orders have components that can be packed together to save money on boxes and delivery costs. Reverse logistic services are available to reverse this process in the event that someone needs to return or exchange product.
